Ep. 1: Amane and Mahiru develop a routine of cooking and cleaning together.

On a rainy day, Amane lends his umbrella to Mahiru, who subsequently cares for him when he falls ill. They discover they live in adjacent apartments and agree to pretend to be strangers at school. Mahiru notices Amane’s poor diet of takeout and energy drinks, so she begins cooking dinner for him nightly. This routine improves Amane’s health, which his friend Itsuki observes. Mahiru also helps Amane clean his messy apartment, leading to a pizza purchase. Mahiru reveals she has never eaten pizza because her wealthy parents employ a chef, confusing Amane about her budget struggles. When Amane questions her motives for cooking, she claims it is for the satisfaction of showcasing her skills, though he remains skeptical of this explanation.
