Ep. 4: Amane and Mahiru navigate secret feelings and Christmas traditions together

Amane and Mahiru explain their living arrangement to Itsuki and Chitose, who remain skeptical about the lack of romance but agree to secrecy. Amane feels upset that their secret did not last longer, though he is confused by this reaction. They share a normal dinner where Mahiru reveals she learned cooking from her former caretaker. On Christmas day, they play video games, leading to embarrassing moments as Amane teaches her. He gives her a cute key case, and Mahiru unexpectedly touches his hair, realizing he is handsome. Amane reciprocates and sees her beauty. Panicking, Mahiru reveals a scarf gift. When Mahiru develops a fever, Amane puts her in his bed. She holds his hand until asleep and admits her caretaker, Koyuki, could not stay during the night. Amane promises to stay until she recovers, later becoming angry at himself for falling in love.
