Break assigns Oz, Alice, and Raven their first mission to locate an illegal contractor in a nearby town. Alice vanishes during the search, prompting Raven to investigate while Oz encounters a young flower seller. At dinner, Oz recognizes traits in Raven’s alternate personality that remind him of Gil. Raven explains that illegal contractors seek to alter the past. Later, Alice is attacked by a chain controlled by the flower seller. As the girl’s clock seal completes a rotation, she is pulled into the Abyss. Raven restrains Oz to prevent him from suffering the same fate. On the return journey, Raven reveals that killing Alice is the only way to save Oz from the Abyss, sparking a conflict between the two. Meanwhile, Sharon and Break discuss the mission’s secrecy, and a death god laughs within the Vessalius mansion.
