Ash, Misty, and Brock arrive in Acapulco after escaping a deserted island. They accidentally break an old man’s cruiser while joyriding. To pay off the debt, they and their Pokémon work for him. His booming business angers a competitor who hires Team Rocket to interfere. The group devises a plan to defeat the rival and the villains. Professor Oak and Ash's mother arrive unexpectedly to watch Ash prove himself on the path to becoming a Pokémon Master.
