In Whitestone, a town known for its white limestone facades, Smeargle belonging to renowned painter Jack Pollockson cause chaos by spraying multicolored paint from their tails. Jack has lost his artistic inspiration, leading his Pokémon to act out. Ash, Brock, and Misty intervene to help free the Smeargle from Team Rocket's interference. Once liberated, the Smeargle find new inspiration in the sunrise and decorate the city walls with their artwork. The trio witnesses this creative resolution and departs the town satisfied with the positive outcome.
