85EP 85Ash refuses evolution to help Gligar overcome fear before facing Team Rocket
Jul 3, 2008Ash worries about Gligar’s performance before his Hearthome City Gym battle. Gary Oak suggests using a Razor Fang to evolve Gligar into Gliscor to cure its battle anxiety. Ash declines, insisting Gligar must conquer its fear first. Team Rocket ambushes them with a giant Gliscorbot, capturing Gligar. Ash jumps aboard, trapping himself with Gligar. Team Rocket feasts while Ash coaches Gligar to use X-Scissor to escape the cage. They flee across a chasm, but Team Rocket catches up. Ash gives Gligar the Razor Fang, triggering an evolution into Gliscor. The newly evolved Gliscor defeats Team Rocket just as Gary arrives. Gary bids farewell, and Ash continues toward Hearthome City with his confident new partner.
