Students at the Pokémon School learn about Principal Oak’s Komala after Samson demonstrates its unique ability to battle while asleep. The lesson is interrupted by Jigglypuff, whose song puts the class to sleep, leaving angry scribbles on their faces. Komala remains unaffected, which frustrates the singing Pokémon as it repeatedly attempts to wake the sleeping creature. Samson devises a plan where Komala uses the Sleep Song to put Jigglypuff to sleep instead. Komala then draws on the sleeping Pokémon's face. Upon waking, Jigglypuff finds the situation hilarious rather than offensive, resulting in a new friendship between the two.
