Sara, known as the diamond princess, is the focus of preparations for an upcoming Christmas party. Meanwhile, Maria Minchin remains in her office, anxious about potential arrest for her past mistreatment of Sara, until Amelia encourages her to improve her mood. Thomas Carrisford and Solicitor Carmichael honor Sara’s wishes by donating generously to the Seminary and funding her continued education, a development that delights Ermengarde, Lottie, and other students, including Jessie and Gertrude. Lavinia finally reconciles with Sara, who must return to India for four months to resolve legal matters. Although Sara is scheduled to return to England in four months, Lavinia plans to go back to the United States.
