Following seven debate losses to Gongsun Ling Gong, Confucian scholars Zifang issues an eighth challenge, selecting Tianming, disguised as Ziming, to represent them. Tianming begins by insulting his opponent before swapping her family’s white horse heirloom for a black one, a move that dismantles her argument and secures victory for the Confucians. After the defeat, Li Si and his group depart, but not before reminding the scholars that the entire world and its people belong to the king.
