Xiang Shaoyu locates Tianming amidst rumors of a sea monster and elite Qin forces in Shanghai. After witnessing wanted notices for Mohist leaders, the pair is spotted by Gongshu Chou, who attempts to capture them. They evade capture but become lost, eventually stumbling upon a Confucian school guarded by Qin soldiers. Zifang Liang, a Confucian scholar, intervenes by claiming the boys are his students. He predicts that Tianming will owe him exactly seven favors in the future. As the situation resolves, the honored guest arrives, revealed to be a masked woman.
