Claudette defeats Menace in a desert battle after rain weakens the opponent's sand attacks, allowing her to overcome cursed strength-draining techniques. Aldra then petrifies Menace, stating that ancient entities belong in the past. The first round concludes with Risty advancing through unknown means and Nanael winning by default as her opponent, likely Melona, failed to appear. Disappointed by the lack of wagers, Nanael disguises herself as Melpha’s roommate to bet all of Melpha’s savings on her own victory, leaving her to survive on garden vegetables. Meanwhile, Risty hunts Irma through the city, but Echidna intervenes to protect Irma temporarily. Aldra subsequently forces a match between Irma and Risty, while Tomoe is summoned to face Elina.
