The Paper Sisters journey to Romania to retrieve a book stolen during the British Library fire four years ago. Upon infiltrating Professor Webber's castle, their powers are diminished by a strange force, and they face attacks from unusual animals. Maggie becomes deeply depressed, while Anita grows frustrated, picks fights with her sisters, and runs off. The trio eventually locates Webber's central chambers, discovering he weakens their abilities and exploits their emotional vulnerabilities using ultrasonic and subsonic waves. Michelle remains partially immune due to her calm demeanor, allowing the sisters to counter the sonic attacks. Anita kills Webber, and they attempt to flee. An injured Maggie shields Anita from Webber's servant Irving, while Dokusensha agents Mr. Kim and Sonny Wong assist the Paper Sisters in escaping the castle.
