Ranma and Akane unearth a seahorse while returning home, prompting Ranma to select it for a class assignment. Meanwhile, a severe typhoon watch leads Kasumi Tendo to invite Dr. Tofu Ono to the Tendo household. The visit is interrupted by a frog hermit with hidden intentions. Dr. Tofu eventually determines that the creature is actually a dragon. It is revealed that exposure to a whirlwind accelerates the dragon's growth, and consuming its flesh grants immortality.
