The Self Defence Police establishes the White Herons Unit to support and monitor Reideen and its pilot, Junki. When authorities request Junki's direct collaboration, he hesitates to comply. Shortly thereafter, another gigantic mechanical monster named Poson appears. The Self Defence Police deploys their Jinrai, or Thunderbolt, mechs to launch a counterattack that seemingly destroys Poson. However, as Reideen emerges, the defeated monster begins to move again, indicating that the initial assault was not entirely successful. This development complicates the situation for the newly formed unit and its pilot, who must now address the renewed threat while navigating their complex relationship with the police force.
