Madoka Kyouno saves a drowning girl at the beach but loses her uniform. As a Jersey Club member, she engages in tennis and kendo. A strange girl returns the uniform, and her cousin Youko Nakaizumi asks about her feelings for Kamogawa. The next day, the girl, Fin E Ld Si Laffinty (Lan), invites Madoka to pilot an Ovid at Pharos. Touching the machine triggers a flashback. Rebel Array attacks in the Teneritas. Lan, an alien protecting Madoka, reveals their link. Madoka pilots the emotional Ovid, transforming it to fight Array. She defeats him using wrestling knowledge, accepting her role as the pilot.
