The WWW organization discovers a rare Battle Chip left behind by Mr. Wily, which has the potential to revive their syndicate. They travel to a frozen island to retrieve this item. Lan and his companions arrive at the same location with the intention of stopping the WWW from obtaining the chip. Mr. Gauss also appears at the scene, seeking the same Battle Chip for his own purposes. This convergence of interests leads to a battle between Mr. Gauss and his brother, Count Zap, as they compete for control of the artifact.
