During a visit to an airplane festival, Lan and MegaMan run into ShadowMan, who is now allied with the Darkloids. ShadowMan is actively searching for the Control X navigational program. In the ensuing confrontation, MegaMan also meets SearchMan, a NetSaver from the country of Sharo. The two NetNavas hold opposing views on morality, particularly when SearchMan chooses to sacrifice innocent NetNavis in an attempt to stop ShadowMan. This clash of ideals creates significant tension between MegaMan and SearchMan amidst the danger posed by ShadowMan and his new Darkloid associates.
