Lan investigates a science museum under construction when the NetSavers receive intelligence regarding a potential Darkloid attack. This situation proves to be a trap orchestrated by SavageMan. The antagonist duplicates Lan's frequency, creating an artificial version of Lan. Consequently, MegaMan encounters this artificial counterpart, which results in the disabling of cooperation between MegaMan and his NetOp.
