Chaud gains intelligence on Colonel and NetOp Baryl through his research. A temporal anomaly revives ShadeMan just before LaserMan deleted him in Axess. He battles Lan and Chaud while Ms. Yuri intervenes, revealing her Crest of Duo. ShadeMan reunites with BubbleMan to execute a scheme to travel twenty years into the past, prior to the network's creation, intending to overrun the world with Darkloids. MegaMan tries to stop them but fails, suffering a painful neck bite as he falls.
