Darkloids from Dark MegaMan assault NetCity and target Lan in the real world, destroying his SynchroChip. Lan journeys to Sharo's CrossFusion Research Institute where Dr. Hikari works to have the chip repaired. During the trip, Darkloids strike again, but Lan is saved by Raika and Charlie. He is shocked to learn that Charlie has also achieved CrossFusion. This unexpected alliance helps Lan continue his mission to restore his equipment while facing ongoing threats from the invading forces.
