Will is summoned to meet Ethelbald, the lord of Whitesails, who addresses him as the "Wyvern Slayer." Ethelbald proposes gathering private soldiers to halt the damage caused by local beast attacks. Although Will’s sudden proposal initially receives a cold reaction, Ethelbald grants permission after observing Will more closely. Consequently, Will enters the Whitesails tavern to search for reliable allies to join his cause and address the ongoing threats in the area.
