Nanami leaves a kotatsu at home before work. Mitsuki studies math inside it but falls asleep, joined by Hiyori. Yūya finds them, assumes Hiyori is a friend, and corrects Mitsuki’s wrong answers under the kotatsu before sleeping. Mitsuki wakes to find Yūya holding her; she slaps him unsuccessfully, dismisses him as an airhead, but appreciates the corrected work. She thanks him but is confused when he asks about her friend. The next day, Mitsuki makes a bento, prompting Hiyori to note her changed behavior. Hiyori compares it to a newlywed, which Mitsuki denies. Hiyori possesses Mitsuki to check Yūya’s bag, finding a second bento. Mitsuki realizes her lunch is full while the other is empty, upsetting her. Yukina visits with a bento, sees Mitsuki’s distress, and offers to cook dinner. Hiyori possesses Mitsuki to accept, suspecting a misunderstanding. Yukina reveals Yūya was saving Mitsuki’s lunch, apologizes, and stops making bento. Yukina spills dressing on Mitsuki, who goes to bathe. Yūya exits the bath, sees her, and gets slapped again. Yūya explains he saved the lunch. Yukina thinks they are far from love. Mitsuki stands on heaven’s steps with Hiyori, who is happy to be closer to the gate.
