Ep. 8: Gagumber confronts his past with Rufus while protecting Memempu from Zackletu

The group reaches Calacalla colony for Yuri’s medical care. Gagumber recounts his history with Rufus to his former boss, noting he abandoned Rufus’s son, Zack, to escape grief. Meanwhile, Memempu shares a dream with Zackletu before falling asleep. Zackletu reveals she kidnapped Memempu to force Gagumber to fight, exposing herself as Zack, who disguised as a boy to avoid bullying. During the battle, Zackletu expresses resentment over Gagumber’s abandonment of Rufus and his new family. When Memempu falls, Gagumber uses Gale, an illegal chip that boosts reaction speed, to save her. This action causes nerve damage. Despite the conflict, Memempu tells Zackletu she still wishes to travel together.
