Sumika travels with her family to visit graves and attend an obon festival, intending to call Ushio upon arrival. Their planned accommodation is destroyed by fire, forcing a relocation to a mountain temple where cell phone service is unavailable. Frustrated by the inability to contact Ushio, Sumika spends the next day supervising children. During a river visit, a child named Teru falls from a tree, prompting Sumika to rescue him, which results in her cell phone getting wet. Ushio grows worried due to the silence. After Teru apologizes and faces grounding, Sumika’s phone begins functioning again. While she attends a festival, Ushio makes a call, and Teru quickly brings the device to her, allowing the two finally to speak.
