To compensate for a missed beach outing, Azusa's parents provide pool tickets for the group. Ushio maintains distance from Azusa to protect Norio's secret, frustrating Sumika, who is Azusa's only close friend. Kiyori divides the group by breast size, placing Sumika with Ushio and Tomoe. After Sumika scares off men who ignore her figure, she competes against Tomoe in swimming and loses. While resting on Ushio's lap, Sumika teaches Ushio to swim. Azusa observes this interaction, realizing Sumika's feelings for Ushio and questioning her own role. Seeking comfort, Azusa speaks with Tomoe and decides to write a story inspired by the two.
