Aug 6, 2005Jinto departs the navy to found an anti-matter fuel supply chain in the Hyde Star System. Lafiel resigns to accompany him, avoiding the hardships of Lobnas II. Planet Martine refuses imperial integration, prompting Lafiel to argue that space-based factories do not require surface cooperation. Concerned about funding, Jinto directs the chartered ship to observe Martine while he travels to Delktou to hire clerical staff for the factories. Aug 6, 2005Jinto’s chartered ship is fired upon by Martine as an Assault Frigate squadron returns to the system, raising fears that the exercise masks a military assault. Lacking military clearance, he struggles to determine the true purpose of the operation and prevent retaliation. Although the planet destroys the fleet’s defenses, it provides warning to evacuate facilities first. Jinto meets the Prime Minister and his wife, who act as his surrogate parents, to sign the surrender. This meeting offers family warmth but also reveals their refusal to believe he is a hostage, as they plead for him to seek asylum. Jinto must choose between surrendering his Abh identity to return to a planet where his successor may be less compassionate, or retaining his title and living in permanent exile.
