Following an insult from Princess Silvia, Ash agrees to a race to disprove her claims. During the competition, he is ambushed by Milgaus and Anya from the Zepharos Empire. When Anya nearly falls into a chasm, Ash rescues her. Consequently, Ash falls into the same chasm but is saved when his Pal awakens.
