After relocating from Fujisawa to Ogaki, Sakura and Mai remain unable to find anyone who remembers Mai Sakurajima. Upon returning to school, Sakuta’s friend Rio Futaba confirms that she is the only person with memories of Mai. Sakuta subsequently discovers a theory linking the disappearance of Mai’s existence in others' minds to specific actions and behaviors. As he desperately attempts to preserve her memory, Mai observes Sakuta’s intense determination and makes a personal decision regarding their situation.
