Yoh faces Johann Faust VIII, a necromancer and descendant of Faust who entered the Shaman Fight to resurrect his deceased wife, Eliza, whose skeleton he carries. When Manta questions Faust's motives, the necromancer attacks him, forcing Yoh to expend his furyoku fighting an army of skeletons before Faust animates Eliza's remains to defeat him. However, Yoh's taunts provoke Faust to unleash Eliza's full power, escalating the conflict significantly. This encounter tests Yoh's resolve as he battles against a foe driven by grief and a desire to bring back his lost love, leading to a dangerous confrontation that pushes Yoh to his limits.
