Ep. 3: Recruits face wilderness survival and a thief ambush during a training exercise in 848.

In 848, recruits undergo a wilderness survival exercise split into two groups. Marco struggles to lead due to Eren and Jean's arrogance. Mikasa’s group discovers thieves who stole their maneuver gear. The thieves ambush Eren’s group, taking Christa hostage. The group sets aside conflicts to rescue her, using their skills to plan an ambush. Eren and Jean recover the equipment and stop the thieves' wagons. Christa is held at knifepoint but is rescued by Mikasa and Annie after Armin signals for help. The thieves are arrested with no casualties. Armin questions if the attack was part of the exercise.
