High school student Mitsuki Asano encounters Momo in the school pool, who warns him that he will die soon. This revelation causes Mitsuki to reflect on his deceased older sister, who was more athletic and capable than him despite dying before he did. He begins spending more time with classmate Yutaka Fujishima, who eventually confesses her feelings for him. When Mitsuki shares his impending death, she interprets it as a cruel rejection. Momo appears several more times, ultimately helping Mitsuki realize he must live his own life. It is revealed that Momo’s warning was a lie intended to motivate Mitsuki to change his lifestyle and embrace existence.
