Junior-high student Eko Miyazaki is distressed by rumors of a ghost at a local elementary school, believing it to be her late older sister, a former teacher there. After meeting Kouta Seto, who can see spirits and shinigami, Eko asks for his assistance in locating her sister's spirit within the school grounds. Their goal is for Eko to apologize for saying she hated her sister right before her death. The pair sneaks into the school at night, where the sister's spirit eventually appears in her former classroom. Eko tearfully delivers her apology, causing the spirit to vanish. This resolution allows Eko to smile for the first time since her sister passed away.
