Makoto rescues Sanae from a house fire, but Masato dies in the process. Sanae had just woken from a coma, yet her memory has regressed. Takahito remains in the ICU, while Miyako fails to recognize Masayuki and Tarō. Meanwhile, Kei reminisces about Masato and her distant love for him. Makoto also reconciles with his mother.
