SHORT PEACE

Four standalone animated films make up this collection, each exploring distinct themes and settings. The first follows a wandering man who takes shelter in a shrine filled with haunted objects. Another recounts the events leading to a devastating fire that destroyed much of Edo. A third centers on a young girl who asks a white bear to fight an ogre abducting the village's firstborn daughters. The final film takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where soldiers are sent to destroy an automated defense system in a deserted city. Two of the films, the haunted shrine story and the Edo fire tale, were shown separately at the Annecy Animation Film Festival in 2012. The Edo fire and post-apocalyptic stories are adaptations of Katsuhiro Otomo's manga, while the other two are original works.
