An evil spirit named Moronao attacks Fujiwara no Yukinari, believing he caused his exile. Masahiro and Mokkun visit Yukinari after work, while Akiko shops with her mother under Rikugo's protection. The boys detect a dark aura at Yukinari's home and investigate. Yukinari advises Masahiro on becoming a better onmyouji regarding Toshitsugu. Moronao returns, and Toshitsugu fails to exorcise him. The following day, a possessed Toshitsugu assaults Masahiro and Mokkun, stealing a cursed jewel from the forbidden repository before vanishing. Yukinari's condition deteriorates, prompting Masahiro to remove the evil aura. The pair then plan how to lift the curse on Yukinari, with Mokkun offering assistance.
