Kim signals the DWMA retreat, ending skirmishes with Arachnophobia. Inside the field, Maka, Black Star, and Kid meet Marie and Stein, whose bodies fail, forcing them to exit. The trio searches for "Brew" and confronts Mosquito, who reverts to a century-old form. Eibon distracts Kid, allowing Black Star and Maka to attack. Outside, Kim finds Sid, Niagus, and Azusa at the retreat point, noting missing companions. Ox and Kilik defeat nearby Arachnophobia forces, see Stein and Marie exit, and enter the field to help. Mosquito overpowers the trio until Little Demon urges Soul to play piano, initiating a soul resonance link with duel arts.
