Six months have passed since Rintaro Okabe chose to remain in a world line where Kurisu Makise is dead, abandoning his mad scientist persona. Suzuha Amane, the future daughter of Itaru Hashida, has traveled back in time to prevent World War III but hides her identity by posing as Daru's sister to avoid alerting her future mother, Yuki Amane. Traumatized by previous timeline shifts, Rintaro refuses to assist Suzuha. Instead, he attends a seminar hosted by Professor Alexis Leskinen and his assistant Maho Hiyajo. During this event, the presenters introduce Amadeus, an artificial intelligence program developed based on Kurisu's research prior to her death.
