Ep. 14: Haruhi names a stray cat Shamisen, whose speech reveals her reality-warping powers during film production.
Haruhi adopts a stray male calico cat named Shamisen for Yuki’s familiar role. When Haruhi departs, Shamisen begins speaking due to her latent abilities. The club members convene, with Itsuki urging Haruhi to remember her movie is fiction to prevent further reality damage. Mikuru and Yuki independently share their perspectives on Haruhi. As filming continues, Itsuki tasks Kyon with restraining her powers. Kyon succeeds by having Haruhi add a disclaimer stating the film is fictional. After production, Kyon and Haruhi edit the footage in the club room. Kyon falls asleep during the process but wakes to find the movie completed autonomously. The episode concludes with a May flashback where Kyon attempts to reveal the truth about the club members, but Haruhi refuses to believe him.
