A young racer named Shiro sustains severe injuries while competing against his rival, Goodspeed, in pursuit of the "Loser King" on Tellus, a partially explored planet where terraforming machines cause destructive quakes called "Stampedes." Near death, he is approached by a woman named Tomoe, who offers him a new life in exchange for joining the Planet Re-Development Race. This annual event attracts daring racers from around the world who compete for large monetary rewards and the opportunity to explore the planet's uncharted regions. A pilot version of the project was presented at the 2009 Sapporo International Film Festival, with a preview of the completed pilot shown on November 27, 2010. The full version became available on Blu-Ray and DVD on January 28, 2011.
