Ep. 2: Tamahiko Declared Dead by Father Amidst Family Marriage Plans

In early spring 1922, Tamahiko struggles to adjust to life with Yuzu. His father, Tamahiro, sends a letter revealing that two siblings have marriage prospects, prompting him to declare Tamahiko dead to preserve those chances. This revelation deepens Tamahiko's depression and causes him to develop a fever. While Yuzu tries to comfort him, he soils her kimono, leading the couple to travel to Tokyo to purchase fabric for a replacement. They return to the family villa later, where Tamahiko's sister, Tamako, arrives and announces her intention to possibly move in with them.
