Ep. 5: Jade explains Fon Disc secrets while Dist attacks and Luke faces political duties in Baticul.
Jade reveals the Fon Disc holds data on Lorelei, the hypothetical Seventh Fonon sentience, forcing Luke to recover lost memories of his parents. An unknown fontech signature attacks the ship, revealing Dist the Reaper, a God-General who demands the disc back. After Dist snatches it, he learns Jade memorized the contents, prompting Jade to damage Dist’s Kaizer Dist R with Splash. Van destroys the fontech, sending Dist into the ocean, while Luke experiences a frightening hyperresonance episode. Van explains his isolation was due to the King wanting to use him as a weapon. The group arrives in Baticul, meeting Commander Goldberg and Brigadier General Cecille, and interrupts a meeting between King Ingobert and Grand Maestro Mohs regarding a letter from Emperor Peony the Ninth. Luke visits his ill mother with Tear, then accepts a role as Kimlasca’s ambassador to Akzeriuth to aid Malkuth. Van later reveals he kidnapped Luke previously and urges him to flee to Daath, a conversation overheard by Princess Natalia.
