Shiramine reveals Gouda is missing and leads the group to Dan. They witness a bloody arm retreat through a fifth-floor window. Leaving Megu, Yukihira, and Maki behind, the others pursue muddy footprints to a room where Gouda’s mutilated body is found. Initially despairing, Kyu recalls his detective ambitions, restoring the group's resolve to solve the murders with Ryu.
