Lag delivers a fan letter from cotton mill president Joey to pianist Matilda Rein. Matilda reveals her motivation stems from Joey’s encouraging poems, leading to a planned meeting with Lag and Niche. She discusses her unstable relationship with manager Belushi. Later, Lag notices Belushi’s handwriting matches Joey’s. Belushi admits he wrote the letters because he and Joey are childhood friends, and Joey fell in love with Matilda at first sight. Belushi quits and leaves the city, sending a record to Matilda. Lag uses shindan on the record, revealing the truth. Belushi returns, and Matilda begs him to stay. Joey explains to Lag and Niche that he orchestrated the letters to push Belushi to admit his feelings for Matilda.
