Following the conclusion of the prior conflict, Kamina, Simon, and Yoko venture out to search for food supplies. Their foraging mission is interrupted by an unexpected meeting with Viral, a formidable Beastman, and his elite Gunman troops. This confrontation necessitates the integration of the Gurren and the Lagann mechs. The two machines merge to create a new, combined Gunman known as Gurren Lagann, which is deployed to counter the threat posed by Viral and his forces.
