During a battle against a Tart chimera anima, Yuebin Ron, an apprentice of Bu-Ling's father, intervenes and defeats the creature with his bare hands. He challenges Bu-Ling to a night-long competition to determine the successor of their family's fighting style. After winning, he declares that she must become his fiancée. The interaction turns sour when he accidentally damages Bu-Ling's photo album, causing her to retreat to a café. Tart attacks the location, trapping Bu-Ling while the other Mew Mews fight Quiche and his chimera anima. Yuebin ultimately rescues Bu-Ling from the danger. Following these events, he departs for China to continue his training, aiming to become strong enough to protect his future wife.
