A stray cat threatens Bijou, prompting Hamtaro and Boss to attempt a rescue. Boss becomes frightened and hides, yet Hamtaro and Bijou interpret his actions as a brave feint. Upset by this misunderstanding and feeling like a coward, Boss flees the clubhouse. Hamtaro searches for him, but Boss angrily demands to be left alone. Hamtaro responds that he would not approach Boss anyway. Sabu intervenes in their conflict, suggesting that instead of fighting, the two hamsters should settle their dispute through a formal duel.
