Laura attempts to select a birthday present for Travis, prompting Hamtaro to observe that she is choosing something for someone she cares about. Inspired by this, Dexter and Howdy decide to give Pashmina a gift and ask Hamtaro for assistance. After witnessing Laura knit a towel for Travis, Hamtaro recommends creating a handmade item and proceeds to knit a cap and gloves for Pashmina. The duo feels proud of their efforts until Penelope arrives and gives Pashmina sunflower seeds, which quickly diminishes the excitement surrounding the handmade presents.
