Ep. 1: Energetic Manatsu meets mermaid Laura in Aozora City to fight the Witch of Procrastination.

Manatsu Natsuumi relocates to Aozora City to live with her mother, who works at the local aquarium. Simultaneously, Laura, a mermaid from the Grand Ocean Kingdom, travels to the city to find humans capable of opening a specific compact to combat the Witch of Procrastination. After Manatsu arrives and reunites with her mother, she encounters Laura, who explains her mission while harboring personal motives. Chongire, a hermit crab general serving the Witch, creates a Yaraneeda monster to steal Motivation from runners. Manatsu witnesses the creature and, upon seeing Laura captured, resolves to act immediately. This determination opens the compact, granting Manatsu the power to become Cure Summer, a legendary Pretty Cure. She defeats the monster, rescues Laura, and retrieves the stolen Motivation. The two girls become friends, while the Witch of Procrastination is alerted to the Pretty Cure's emergence but chooses to delay her response.
