Ulysses is rescued from a Trident assault by Chronos, the god of time, who is depicted with two faces resembling the Roman deity Janus. Chronos intends to utilize Ulysses as leverage to secure permission to reenter the home of the gods. This intervention saves Ulysses from the attack while advancing Chronos's personal agenda regarding his return to the divine realm.
