Ep. 64: Serika fears ALS diagnosis while Mutta struggles with test pressure

Mutta, Hibito, and Serika accompany Sharon to a neurologist, where Serika worries she has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis like her father. Sharon is admitted for tests, and Serika explains the disease to Mutta, who is shocked by the potential fatality. This distress causes Mutta to fail his written exam. After Sharon receives a proper ALS diagnosis, Serika visits her, sharing her father’s story to motivate Sharon to continue her research despite the illness. Sharon then returns to Japan, where Mutta reaffirms his promise to help build her telescope. Finally, Serika reveals a similar vow she made to reach the ISS and develop a treatment for ALS.
